The Process

In the fall of 2009, DealCatcher approached us with the idea of creating an iPhone application to serve up their exclusive Black Friday content. With a tight deadline looming, we set to work.

It took only a few weeks to go from pencil sketches to a completed product. Our application was released on November 19th to critical success – in just a few days’ time, TGI Black Friday became the highest-rated Black Friday app in the App Store.

Despite the tight deadline, there are no known bugs in the application. Getting it right the first time is critically important for survival in the App Store ecosystem, and we were able to deliver.

In the short week between release date and Black Friday, our app was downloaded nearly 30,000 times, reviewed 3,000 times, and written about on both The New York Times’ and CNN Money’s web sites.

The written reviews on the iTunes App Store are overwhelmingly positive, and we look forward to working with the platform and with DealCatcher again soon.
