Challenge

After several years of success in the Philadelphia area, local food delivery service Main Line Delivery needed a new system that could scale along with their business’ plans for growth and expansion.

Solution

We parterned with Main Line Delivery to redesign and rebuild their customer ordering site and administrative tools from the ground up.

Results

The new system’s capabilities and reach allowed Main Line Delivery to achieve their goals for growth, culminating in an acquisition by Square (Caviar). We are proud to have been part of their successful exit.

USER EXPERIENCE & DESIGN

Responsive Online Ordering

Since Main Line Delivery customers were equally as likely to be ordering from a mobile devices as from a desktop, we knew that the customer website needed to be responsive to remain competitive. We custom built the ordering site with responsiveness in mind, and styled all the elements on the site so they would scale proportionally to the user’s browser. With our updates, a Main Line Delivery customer could now experience the same ease of ordering from Main Line Delivery regardless of whether they were on an iPhone 5 or a large widescreen monitor.

FRONT END & BACK END DEVELOPMENT

Powerful Administrative Features

Being able to quickly onboard and update restaurants and securely manage orders is the bread and butter of a food delivery service. We completely rebuilt Main Line Delivery's admin tools in the cloud to address their needs and allow horizontal scaling with little friction. We created new user-friendly interfaces and built features—like a map polygon drawing tool to determine a restaurant’s delivery radius—that enabled Main Line Delivery to shift their time and energy from managing existing restaurants to cultivating new restaurant relationships. We also replaced Main Line Delivery's payment processing with a completely new system that utilized the latest technologies and most secure practices to ensure mass orders could be processed without a hitch.

Support

Launch Day & Beyond

We provided on-site monitoring and support the day of launch to facilitate a seamless transition from the old system to the new. After the initial turn-over, we continued to support Main Line Delivery until their acquisition by Square (Caviar) in 2016.
